Beam couplings connect rotating shafts and accommodate axial motion and parallel or angular shaft misalignment. They have a low maintenance, one-piece design that provides large misalignment capabilities. Beam couplings are frequently used in low torque applications that do not require excessive operating speeds, though some beam couplings can tolerate high torque applications.
Bellows couplings use two end hubs with set screws or an integral clamp to fasten to a shaft. The flex member is hydroformed from tubing to make deep flexible corrugations. The center bellow coupling unit is mechanically fastened to the hubs.
High-gain rubber couplings are flexible couplings that transmit torque from machine drive shafts while allowing for misalignment.
Ondrives.US offers the most comprehensive range of misalignment shaft couplings. Our Magnetic Disc couplings offer a non-contact transfer of torque. Powered by rare earth magnets, the torque applied to one hub is transferred through an air gap to the other hub. The torque transfer can also operate through a thin flat barrier separating fluids or atmospheres. There is no physical contact between the driving and driven hubs so these couplings never wear out or heat up. For full specifications and Dimensional Parametric Search, see individual product listings.
Our Oldham sliding disc couplings are manufactured with injection molded, self-lubricating Acetal wear discs that can achieve peak torque levels of 389 in-lbs. High torque sliding disc couplings that deliver 25% greater torque are also available.
Membrane couplings, also known as disc couplings or wafer spring couplings, utilize spring steel membranes as their pivotal members. Spring disc couplings in three configurations: single stage, double stage, and double stage with spacer.
Jaw type couplings are 3-piece units comprised of two metal hubs encapsulating an elastomeric element. They allow for high torque transmittal with little or no backlash regardless of radial or angular shaft misalignment.
Double Loop Couplings are made with DuPont’s Hytrel™ material, substantially improving the performance characteristics. The flex member is swaged to steel or stainless steel hubs producing a compact, tough and highly flexible misalignment shaft coupling.
Universal-Lateral and Cross Joint offset couplings are unique, light-duty devices for general purpose applications. Offset couplings provide zero backlash operation and torque output up to 108 in-lbs.
Zero Backlash Universal Joint Couplings in single joint, double joint and telescopic double joint types. These Zero Backlash couplings are available in light weight acetal plastic with brass insert hubs or in stainless steel.
Bore Reducers, also referred to as bore reducer sleeves or bushings, are simple adaptors that slip into the bore hole of a rotating component to reduce the bore diameter to a smaller size. Available in brass, aluminum and stainless steel.
